Many Gardenside residents have contributed to this site by opening their homes, answering questions, and, in some cases, allowing me to copy family heirlooms. I will be personally acknowledging their help in various posts.
I was also assisted by students in a field school I taught in the summer of 2017 for the University of Kentucky, College of Design, Department of Historic Preservation. I would like to give each student a special shout out. It was a pleasure to share Gardenside with them. They each offered important insights that make this site a better resource for the neighborhood. I hope they learned something from Gardenside that will help them in their own work. I look forward to following their careers.

Finally, I would like to thank Liz and Gary Hansen for serving as Gardenside ambassadors during the field school. Not only did they graciously open their beautiful home to my class, but they also did an incredible job keeping the neighborhood informed about our comings and goings. The field school wouldn’t have been nearly as successful without their help.
